Brilliance A Gift From Life

Written by Lynne on December 22, 2009 – 8:00 am -

Learning that we all have a core of brilliance was the greatest discovery of our lives. It is our connection to the Universe, to the Source of all that is. Learning that we have direct access to this brilliance at all times was a part of that great discovery. Being able to tap our brilliance for direction, guidance, and understanding is truly a gift from Life. It is our safety net.

This week we decided to share some of our favorite quotes about brilliance. You will notice that several of these quotes come from our book, Activate Your Brilliance: 12 Keys to the Art of Living Happy.

“Happiness is really inside of us, always there as a part of our brilliance.” – Activate Your Brilliance.

“Thinking requires effort, however small.  Happiness requires no effort at all.  In fact, it’s more of a letting go of unhappiness than it is a striving for happiness.” – Richard Carlson, You Can Be Happy No Matter What.

“When we understand that we can live from our brilliance, the pressures, expectations, and limitations of the external world lose their power.” – Activate Your Brilliance.

“Happiness allows you to see information in new and creative ways, and allows you to make rational, productive decisions in a timely manner; it allows you to enjoy, rather than struggle with the ebbs and flows of life, and it encourages your wisdom and common sense to surface.” – Richard Carlson,    You Can Be Happy No Matter What.

“We all have the power to choose. In a world where we seem to have so little control, we often forget that we have choices.” -  Activate Your Brilliance.

“Pretty much, in all battles of the heart over the mind, go with your heart. Because, truly, it’s a lot easier for your mind to catch up with your heart, than for your heart to catch up with your mind. A whole lot. – Michael Dooley, TUT… A Note from the Universe.

“A Key to happiness is listening to your inner wisdom until understanding sneaks past your thought system.” – Jane Nelsen, Understandiing.

“The more we are able to live from the inside out, the more beauty, joy, and fulfillment we experience.” – Activate Your Brilliance.

“Life is magical. When we become masters of brilliance we experience that magic much more often.” – Activate Your Brilliance.

The Gifts YOu Couldn’t Ask For

Written by Lynne on December 18, 2009 – 8:00 am -

We spend a lot of time in our lives trying to look good, fit in, and be popular no matter what age we are. Have you ever wished you could just look in the mirror and be happy with who you are now?

The gifts of understanding and connecting with your natural Brilliance are the gifts you’d never put on a holiday list, but are the gifts your heart truly longs for.

With the hectic pace of modern life we tend to lose track of our dreams and who we wanted to be. These are the deepest things our hearts really long for. When we find ourselves dissatisfied with our lives we can link it to missing, or not having, the basic gifts only we can give ourselves.

Here’s a list we made up of the gifts our Brilliance has given us.

- Liking ourselves

- Being the person we really want to be

- Being the person we are

- Being comfortable in our own skin

- Knowing what is important to us

- Having the strength and self-confidence to act from our core beliefs no matter what

Having a new view of who we truly are and owning our power brings new levels of happiness to us every day. As the master of our own life, we get to create our masterpiece and bring our unique gifts to the world. In this holiday season, be true to yourself and give this gift to others.

Experience Natural Brilliance Now

Written by Lynne & Vivian on December 4, 2009 – 11:05 am -

How do you respond when you’ve filed every last piece of paper on your desk? (Can you remember or was it too long ago?) How do you feel when you finally find that great lamp you need to fill a dark corner in your living room, and when you set it up, its light makes everything in the room look new and better than ever? When the last puzzle piece slips into place and you find yourself moving your hand over all the pieces to smooth them into perfect alignment, do you find a smile on your face?

If you feel exhilaration after the filing is done; if you have a sense of appreciation for the glow of light that spreads warmth all around you; and if you smile in simple satisfaction at putting all the puzzle pieces together, then you have experienced one small glimpse of what living from your Brilliance can offer.

How many minutes or hours a day do you find yourself feeling satisfaction, excitement, joy, and genuine happiness?  If you answered “Not enough”, then a thorough study of natural Brilliance is a gift you should give yourself.

In this busy month of December, just think what some peace of mind could do for you. Can you imagine enjoying every minute of this busy time, whether or not you have enough money, enough time, or enough energy for the holidays?

Take Time to Notice

Written by Vivian on September 17, 2009 – 9:43 am -

When I get in the groove, I usually go into my automatic mode, setting the alarm, getting into my car to head to work, and then arriving there with hardly a memory of what occurred between starting up and turning off the car. Summertime and my niece’s end-of summer wedding got me out of ‘automatic’ and into the moment.

There is nothing like a wedding to make you take notice of what is happening in each moment. From the first sight of the bride in her magnificent dress to the dinner and dessert buffets, to the first dance, I found each moment alive with energy and joy. While talking with those I hadn’t seen in some time, and engaging with friends and family of the couple I’d never talked with before, I noticed every little thing around me.

My most memorable and alive moment was when two mothers of my niece’s friends maneuvered my 91-year old Mother onto the dance floor. You need to know that she had never danced a dance in her life. She was laughing so hard that it took a couple of hours for her to literally catch her breath. She has since recovered and we’ll all remember that moment forever.

Since returning to work after the wedding I am continuing to notice what’s around me in the moment. A friend and I ate our DQ delights in a flower garden close to home a few days ago. We were totally taken in by the amazing scents and colors of the blossoms, the industrious bees and inquisitive tiny black flies, and the antics of a bevy of hummingbirds performing mind-bending acrobatic feats, including a mid-air standoff and dive bombing incident. I couldn’t stop watching the action.

Two days ago, I walked around the lake near my office during my lunch break. I had to laugh out loud at the Canadian geese when a small group gathered their friends and honked their way from this lake to another nearby. The geese enjoying the lake just looked up and then continued their in-line meandering. I passed the sign at the Pavilion which acknowledges Energy, Laughter, Earth, Sky and Water. I realized that really noticing what was going on with the earth, sky and water had quickly amped up my energy and laughter.

I enjoy noticing each moment and I am making it into my habit of choice. Life’s complications become simpler and the rush turns into relaxation when I take time to see what’s present in my moments. My mind lets go of anything that isn’t happening NOW, my happiness expands, and I feel fully connected and alive.

I recommend grabbing your friends, dogs, or kids to keep you company on your excursions into the present moments of life; I know you’ll make some unforgettable memories along the way.
