Written by Lynne & Vivian on September 25, 2009 – 3:04 pm -The following is a new Press Release introducing natural stress relief.
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America, June 27, 2009 – Vivian Hildebrandt and Lynne Hoft share the things you must know about stress.
Vivian and Lynne have been lifelong educators and business partners for 10 years. Vivian has worked as a counselor and prevention specialist, helping stressed people by showing them their unlimited inner resources and how to effectively use them. Lynne is a licensed teacher and administrator. She is a certified trainer and has developed exceptional educational programs and curriculum. Over time, Lynne’s research created the foundation for the Brilliance programs of today. Together, in their company Back to Brilliance, they help people overcome and deal with stress and depression.
The fusion of their expertise resulted in the creation of the Brilliance Formula. The Brilliance Formula became the very foundation of their work. This formula is an easy and effective way to achieve natural stress relief and to help anyone live a happier life. Back to Brilliance meets the needs of people of all ages in their search for personal and professional growth.
Back to Brilliance programs are based on the realities that people face today. It is undeniable that with the fast-paced life that most people have, stress has become an every-day thing. This stress may be related to personal, financial or work-related events. Stress can adversely affect you and everything in your life. Although stress may seem unavoidable, Vivian and Lynne are here to assure you that it can be controlled and eventually eliminated.
Vivian and Lynne recommend that you should first examine what is actually causing your stress. Observing yourself and everything around you sets the stage for moving into a stress-free way of living.
The first step is to take control. You, of all people, are in the best position to choose the solution that will answer your stress-related problems. When you focus on the things that are advantageous to you, the solutions for your life instead of the problems, you can begin to eliminate your stress immediately.
The second step is to find the Brilliance in you. Every person has natural Brilliance within. Many people may not see it at first, but with a little analysis and experimentation, this step can be easily achieved. Brilliance helps you get rid of the habits of thinking and activities that are not beneficial to you. Emotions that are negative won’t provide any stress reduction and can quickly be eliminated by moving back into your Brilliance. Stress management becomes easy when you understand and practice these two steps.
Stick with natural stress relief. Prescription pills and other medications may make you grow dependent on them. It is best to choose healthy methods that really work to control and eliminate stress and the anxiety and worry it brings to our lives.

Stop Stress and Be Happy
Written by Lynne & Vivian on September 25, 2009 – 2:49 pm -Today we cannot pretend that we’re not experiencing stress. People in record numbers are facing job layoffs, the loss of savings, loss of homes, and increased costs of living. This takes a toll on relationships, family, friendships, and personal confidence. For many their quality of life is dramatically diminished. Most people are looking for the secrets of stress reduction. Who knows if things will get better or worse. We all hope a better day is coming.
Our experience has proven that we can eliminate stress whatever the cause. When you understand its causes you are able to own your power to live stress-free and follow the steps to natural stress relief. This article provides two easy steps to get started, to make stress-free living a reality instead of a dream.
Stress Destroys Happiness
The impact of stress on our lives is pervasive. It can sap our energy, destroy our health, and leave us frustrated and hopeless. Often times this is an incremental process. You may be running as fast as you can to keep your job and then suddenly lose it. When we are too busy we might not notice the warning signs of stress. For example, many of us have put all of our money into our homes and still have lost them to the mortgage companies. Having worried for months that the worst could happen, we are then presented with an even more serious set of concerns when it does. And, we are living so close to the edge of our incomes that there is nothing left when an emergency occurs.
For the person who has avoided these extremes, life may still be filled with stress. We may be experiencing relationship problems, parenting challenges, workplace stress, and/or health issues with the latest epidemic headed your way. It seems that our neighborhoods are no longer safe, our leaders are no longer trustworthy, our world is filled with poverty and despair, and our planet is endangered. We’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, angry, worried, afraid, and weary.
It’s possible that we’ve been in these patterns for so long that our stressed out lives appear normal to us. Sometimes we wonder when we last had a sense of security and a moment of peace and happiness.
Real Solutions for Stress Reduction
There are many popular cures for stress. Your doctor may prescribe little pills and your guru will show you the benefits of yoga and deep breathing.
Your friends will invite you out for a night of drinking and your associates at work will tell you how to take short cuts on the job. Exercise, a walk in the woods, time alone and a short nap are some other ways that people unwind and reduce stress. None of these give natural stress relief, create a permanent change, or completely eliminate stress.
Our unique approach to stress provides real solutions that stop stress at its source. First, thinking is at the center of all of our responses to stress. Second, most people don’t realize that they have an inborn wisdom, which we call Brilliance, that is always available to give insights and answers to the problems we face. There is a formula we have identified that will shift our thinking and return us to our natural Brilliance whenever we remember to apply it. This formula provides the most natural stress relief available.

Three Steps to Motivation
Written by Lynne & Vivian on September 22, 2009 – 3:54 pm -Motivation is the flow of energy that moves us into action. This energy comes from the crystal clear thoughts of what we truly want, what our heart connection is. This powerful flow of energy comes from the feelings generated by our clearest thoughts.
When we master the ability to focus on the thoughts that come from our natural Brilliance, we have achieved the first step to mastering motivation. The second step is to use our feelings to make sure we stay on track. This means that we use our feelings as a gauge to identify where our thoughts are coming from and disregard those thoughts that have low or negative energy. The third step is to act on those thoughts that come from our natural state of mind. These three steps are the key to motivation, being motivated, staying motivated and living a happy, fulfilling life.
There are hundreds, even thousands, of motivational systems available in the marketplace. They offer music, affirmations, and goal setting steps that are meant to lead us to success. Motivational speakers thrive on rags to riches stories. These may provide some assistance in relaxation or hope that there is a better way. However, the core of motivation comes from our natural Brilliance. It is always an inside-out job.

Take Time to Notice
Written by Vivian on September 17, 2009 – 9:43 am -When I get in the groove, I usually go into my automatic mode, setting the alarm, getting into my car to head to work, and then arriving there with hardly a memory of what occurred between starting up and turning off the car. Summertime and my niece’s end-of summer wedding got me out of ‘automatic’ and into the moment.
There is nothing like a wedding to make you take notice of what is happening in each moment. From the first sight of the bride in her magnificent dress to the dinner and dessert buffets, to the first dance, I found each moment alive with energy and joy. While talking with those I hadn’t seen in some time, and engaging with friends and family of the couple I’d never talked with before, I noticed every little thing around me.
My most memorable and alive moment was when two mothers of my niece’s friends maneuvered my 91-year old Mother onto the dance floor. You need to know that she had never danced a dance in her life. She was laughing so hard that it took a couple of hours for her to literally catch her breath. She has since recovered and we’ll all remember that moment forever.
Since returning to work after the wedding I am continuing to notice what’s around me in the moment. A friend and I ate our DQ delights in a flower garden close to home a few days ago. We were totally taken in by the amazing scents and colors of the blossoms, the industrious bees and inquisitive tiny black flies, and the antics of a bevy of hummingbirds performing mind-bending acrobatic feats, including a mid-air standoff and dive bombing incident. I couldn’t stop watching the action.
Two days ago, I walked around the lake near my office during my lunch break. I had to laugh out loud at the Canadian geese when a small group gathered their friends and honked their way from this lake to another nearby. The geese enjoying the lake just looked up and then continued their in-line meandering. I passed the sign at the Pavilion which acknowledges Energy, Laughter, Earth, Sky and Water. I realized that really noticing what was going on with the earth, sky and water had quickly amped up my energy and laughter.
I enjoy noticing each moment and I am making it into my habit of choice. Life’s complications become simpler and the rush turns into relaxation when I take time to see what’s present in my moments. My mind lets go of anything that isn’t happening NOW, my happiness expands, and I feel fully connected and alive.
I recommend grabbing your friends, dogs, or kids to keep you company on your excursions into the present moments of life; I know you’ll make some unforgettable memories along the way.

Mindset is Mainstream
Written by Lynne & Vivian on September 15, 2009 – 1:32 pm -Everywhere we look these days we see evidence that mindset is very important. Athletes have known for many years the value of staying in the flow – a mental state. People trying to kick a habit like smoking, know that taking your attention off cigarettes is huge – shifting your mindset.
Oprah has featured many writers over the years who have stressed the value of mindset. Her project with Eckhart Tolle stresses expanding one’s consciousness, which is moving from old beliefs and patterns of thinking to a broader mindset that encompasses much more. If you check Google for “mindset”, you’ll find over 15 million entries. Mindset is mainstream.
Many have looked to the workings of the mind to create a foundation for change. It is generally recognized that we have patterns of thinking and beliefs that have been developed over generations. Our minds try to hold on to these beliefs even in the face of new evidence that contradicts old beliefs.
With all the personal development programs and the focus on making your dreams come true, there is a whole body of information that suggests that by learning new habits of thinking, we can change our lives for the better.

The Perfection of the Present Moment
Written by Lynne on September 11, 2009 – 3:52 pm -This morning I was again reminded of the perfection of the present moment. It took me many years to understand how this could be true. Often when the moment is filled with circumstances that appear far from perfect it is difficult to see perfection. The more I have learned about natural Brilliance, the more I have understood the present moment.
When I was teaching writing to high school students in a juvenile correction facility, I liked to give them a handout during the holidays which was titled, “The Present”. It talked about time as a bank. “Every morning it credits you with 84,600 seconds. Every night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the ‘tomorrow’. You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make the most of today.”
This handout ended with the words: “Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; today is a gift; that’s why it’s called the present”
I discovered that natural Brilliance can only be accessed in the present moment. To get our truest ideas, understanding and awareness we must be in the moment. It is this moment that holds the perfection of all that is. We can access it when we slow down our minds, relax, and become present to our own Brilliance.

Cleaning Your Own House
Written by Lynne on September 2, 2009 – 9:29 am -We all have beliefs and patterns of thinking that we have adopted throughout our lives. Many of these habits of thought have to do with our loved ones and other people in our lives.
People from large families may not believe they got all the parenting they expected because their parents’ attention would only go so far. All children have an idea of what a good parent is and what they want from their parents. If their expectation doesn’t match their reality, they feel a sense of loss which may be expressed through anger or a sense of unworthiness.
We can recognize the need behind our early thoughts and then add the understanding we gain as adults that we don’t have to let old thoughts and beliefs control our lives. When we do this we choose a new path toward healthier, happier relationships.
Another example is the expectations we have about our significant relationships. We have a list of how we want to be treated which is not always met by our loved one. In this conflict people often give up instead of working toward a mutually fulfilling relationship, free from old beliefs.
As adults we need to clean house and remove all the assumptions we created as children. Learn more about how to clean your own mental house by reading Chapter 5, “Break Free From Thought Patterns”, in our book, Activate Your Brilliance: 12 Keys to the Art of Living Happy.

Brilliance Relieves Stress
Written by Lynne & Vivian on September 1, 2009 – 2:09 am -Brilliance Relieves Stress
We all love going to the bank or using our debit cards when our accounts are full and overflowing. Lucky for us, we all have an overflowing bank of wisdom, which we call natural Brilliance. It has nothing to do with our IQ or our academic history. Natural Brilliance is the essence of the life force that flows through us every second of the day. Some call it wisdom, Higher Power or the force field of the Universe. Others experience it as intuition, a gut feeling, a hunch, or common sense. It is ours and it is always overflowing and abundant.
Brilliance is a natural part of the human condition. We are all born with it; it cannot be broken, or lost or destroyed. It is always there, available to us. It’s like a buoy in a lake. It can be pushed down, but always pops back up. We can ignore it, or forget about it, but it’s always inside of us, containing the answers we need in every moment.
